After our gorgeous wedding we headed north with my new In-Laws to see the great state of Vermont. It’s where my mom grew up and her family still lives there. We called this little one week trip our “Pre-Honeymoon” because everyone thought it was quite funny that we didn’t immediately jet off for Bora Bora, but I couldn’t let Alex leave the US without seeing some snow.
Unfortunately big now didn’t hit until after we left but it didn’t damper our time there. I hadn’t been up to see my family there since March 2012 and my little cousins couldn’t wait to play with us. It was a big weather shock going from 85 degrees in Miami to -10 but we all tried to take it in stride.
We got to eat some amazing food (of course), the boys did some skiing, check out my uncles sugar house where he makes his maple syrup, play with my cute cousins, I got sick, go to Stowe, eat cabot cheese and taste chocolate, do some sledding, see church street, eat a maple creamy, see my uncle and aunts new farm house, see Lake Champlain, and spend time with my grammy and grampy.
Vermont is such a gorgeous place to see in all seasons and I am so glad I got to share it with my new husband and his family. I was especially glad to be there with my Smith side of the family and for Alex to know them made my heart simply smile.
We love you Vermont, can’t wait to see you again…hopefully in summer!
